Exploring the Silence: A Poetic Journey of Rediscovery
20 secs read time
Gogo Isolezwe (they/ them) | sangoma, gender anarchist and pawerent queering life.
it hit me today that I haven't written in a while
not pen nor paper have my words graced
i've been in a loop of pain, routine mundane habitation
day umpteenth of incubation
rains trotter the land
& i learnt today I can't breathe
my body tens in a constant state of anxiety
my shoulders give in to spasm
i've neglected intentional breathing
dormant to fatigue and trauma
i've neglected breathing
gasp, chokehold
i have to breathe till ate gain
Points to ponder
How do you walk over your stumbles through creativity?
What does accountability to your dreams look like?
How has trauma shaped your way of learning, growing and understanding?
Authors note:
I think there are many ways to think about the ways we honour our talents and how the world holds space for our giftings. The scariest thing to do is actualise the very thing that comes to you with ease. What is your unwritten?
